An expert in the treatment of auto-immune diseases and related conditions that can cause joint pain and loss of mobility. Dr. Cabas-Vargas received her residency training in Internal Medicine at the Albert Einstein Medical Center, with a Rheumatology elective at the Hospital for Special Surgery, New York Presbyterian Hospital. She served her Rheumatology Fellowship at the SUNY Downstate Medical Center.

Her publications and presentations include peer-reviewed studies of Systemic Lupus Erythematosus (SLE), pain-relief therapies for rheumatoid arthritis, and optimal approaches for auto-immune condition diagnoses. Prior to coming to Peconic Bay Medical Center, Dr. Cabas-Vargas was a staff Rheumatologist at the Institute for Rheumatology and Autoimmune Disease, Summit, NJ.
