Professional Profile

One of the region’s leading spine surgeons, Dr. Leone earned his medical degree at the prestigious University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine, completed his residency and served as Chief Resident in Orthopaedic Surgery at Stony Brook University Hospital, and completed fellowships in Trauma Spine Surgery and Scoliosis Surgery at some of the leading hospitals in Europe.

Dr. Leone has served as Consultant Orthopaedic Spine Surgeon at Winthrop-University Hospital, in Mineola, and Mount Sinai Hospital in Manhattan, as Director of the Spine Surgery Program at Syosset and Glen Cove Hospitals, members of Northwell Health. He is a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgery, Northwell Health and The North American Spine Society.

Dr. Leone holds a number of patents for surgically implanted orthopaedic support devices. He has been a contributing author in peer-reviewed journals on orthopaedic medicine and a frequent presenter and instructor at educational events and seminars for orthopaedic practitioners at venues throughout the United States.
